Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2021 Verified Purchase These are a hit or miss tbh. I'm not sure that these are the original cake smoothers but they gave me a hard time. So much so that I ended up just using my spatulas instead to smooth them myself. Yes I did angle them properly and adjusted them carefully. I used the method where you use a cake that is just a tad bit smaller than your board so that you get at least an inch to a half inch of frosting, and that the smoother uses the cake base as a guide as to not dig into the cake. It still dug into the cake. Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2019 Verified Purchase The product was easy to put together and use. It stands upright by itself...a must. The bottom isn't curved but instead a straight edge like its suppose to be, this insides clean lines and edges. Allows you to see where you need to add more buttercream on your cakes either the sides or the top. I personally use a silicone spatula to scrape off excess buttercream off the smoother especially in the height adjustment grooves/ notches. Easy to take apart and wash. Reviewed in the United States on July 31, 2018 Verified Purchase Great item. Fast shipping. Great quality. Thank you. Very happy. Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2018 Verified Purchase It's not working with whipped cream icing , I thought it will make my work easier but I am better off without it..too much mess n u always have to use flush board that means 2 boards for one cake ☹️ Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2018 Verified Purchase My girlfriend recommended this. I'm not sure how I lived without it before :)! Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2019 Verified Purchase The angle of the vertical to the horizontal simply was not correct. As I rotated my cake on the turntable, neither the blue not the pink one moved as one would expect. The top of my cake was not smooth. I reverted to my usual method with simply using an angled spatula. Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2019 Verified Purchase Tried it one time and didn't care for it. Doesn't do what I thought. Using a spatula is easier Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2018 Verified Purchase No luck. Perhaps a whipped frosting would have been better to use rather than American buttercream. Reviews with images

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as the original so save your money

I did have the original, very expensive Pro Froster, didn't get on with it and sold it. I then did a course in which this cheaper version was used so bought one. This is pretty sturdy, has a firm base and straight edge so just as needed. Some of the cheaper ones don't have this base and have a rounded bottom corner so whilst you can get cheaper watch out for this, Pro froster in general aren't the easiest bit of kit to get on with. Also definitely more effective with ganache. Worth persevering. As somebody who has tried the original pro froster at 4 times the price, definitely save your money!

2.0 out of 5 stars Plastic "pro froster'

The bench scrapers included is plastic but nice size & shape. There are 2 'pro frosters' which is what I bought the item for, however, the blue pro froster was loose, no packaging, looked like it had been used & returned, there are lots of scratch marks on it, with traces of dried icing. The pick pro froster was sealed & looks new, having been shopping with Amazon since 2001, I should really know what to expect- you get what you pay for! Very difficult to put together, gentle but firm handling, however I don't expect these to last, bought as an experiment to see how it works with helping me to frost my cakes evenly. Not bothering to return.
Will update with photos.

I haven't used it all yet, but when I went to use the taller leveller it was tall enough.

Not as sturdy as I thought the leveller at the top moves, might improve with experience. Item is as advertised, comes in plastic wrapping
5.0 out of 5 stars It works!
